How to have body safety conversations with children: A session for parents and carers
Many parents and carers want to equip their children with knowledge about body safety and what to do if they feel unsafe, but are unsure of the best way to approach these topics with their kids.
This 90-minute workshop gives parents important information about child sexual abuse as well as practical strategies to use when discussing body safety with their children, in an empowering – rather than frightening – way.
Delivered by Julie Porteous, a Social Worker who has worked for over 20 years in the field of violence, abuse and neglect, the workshop draws on research and clinical experience with victim/survivors of child sexual abuse.
The workshop has been highly successful, with 100% of attendees saying they would recommend the workshop to other parents. The workshop has been delivered to daycares, preschools and primary schools in Northern Sydney.
