Why Sea Glass?
Julie chose the name Sea Glass for her counselling and consulting service for a number of reasons:
-
Sea glass is usually the end result of objects being discarded, cast away;
-
Sea glass has often had a perilous, difficult journey, potentially over many years, which is unknown to anyone who encounters it;
-
Sea glass is tough and strong;
-
Sea glass is more beautiful and valuable at the end of its journey than at the start.
The story of how Sea glass is formed has many parallels to people who have experienced abuse, violence and trauma, making it a meaningful choice for a trauma-specific counselling service.
